MORE Unicorn Crafts!
It's time for fun crafts that are colorful, sparkly and absolutely magical! I created this at work sometime last Spring when the Unicorn bug was circulating. We got a whole bunch of unfinished wood pieces at the craft store that I work at, so I decided to make a bunch of fun pastel-colored unicorn crafts!
This first craft was so adorable. It was meant to be displayed in bedrooms as a nightlight or maybe even used as a comforting lantern during sleepovers or campouts. It could even be a fun craft for unicorn-themed parties or a centerpiece for one!
And, what's a unicorn jar without firefly lights?! For this, I used my favorite: warm white lights. After the outside of the jar was dry, I used an oil-based paint marker to draw on the lashes.
Onto the cap, which was a gorgeous purple with a convenient drinking straw hole, is where I hand-lettered my coworker's name using an oil-based gold Deco-Color paint pen. Why oil-based? Well, oil based markers are permanent on both porous and non-porous surfaces such as glass, fabric, metal, wood, foam and rubber. On non-porous surfaces, these pens will have a glossy finish versus a water-based acrylic marker such as Montana or POSCA, which dries flat. Also, water-based markers aren't completely waterproof and permanent.
I hot-glued a piece of rope around the lid and to that I hot glued small rose heads and leaves to make it look like the unicorn was wearing a flower crown. I then cut out the ears out of white cardstock and the magical unicorn horn out of gold glitter cardstock.

This next project was a treasures case that was bedazzled to the gods in rainbow pastels on the inside! I wrote on the glass top with a white oil-based paint marker and painted the outside white.
The inside had different compartments that could actually be removed, so there was a lot of surface area to work with in there! I chose a unicorn-themed scrapbook paper by Doodlebug to line the bottoms of the little trays.
I then lined the perimeter of the glass top (on the inside) with warm white firefly lights! I just can't seem to get enough of these lights. They add that pop of sparkle and fun to your decor and craft projects. This was such a fun set of projects to do and I will never forget them.
See you next time!
